Educational System


 


 Education is free except for your books. Our school is from grade seven to twelve. It starts 8:50 and ends 3:00. There is no school on Saturday and Sunday. The average student finishes school when they are 18. They start at age five which is kindergarten.
     There are different sections in school like primary, elementary, junior high, and senior high. Primary is from kindergarten to grade three, elementary is from grade four to six, juniorhigh is grades seven to nine and senior high is from grade ten to twelve. There are 184 school days. We have two weeks off for Christmas and Easter. Our summer holidays starts late June and ends early September.
     Our main subjects are math, social studies, french, and English. Our other subjects are religion, health, library, physical education,  and science.  Higher grades take courses like chemistry, advanced math, careers, and biology. Primary and elementary take music, art computers, math, social studies, language arts, science, religion, and health.
     You need a minimum of 36 credits and a maximum of 42 credits in 3 years. You have to get at least 12 credits a year but you can get 14 credits. Over three years you must have three credits in language, four credits in literature, math, science, and social studies. You need two credits in world studies economics, and Canadian studies. You need a minimum of nine credits in level three. Once you get 36 credits you can go to university.
