St.
Lunaire-Griquet, NF
St.
Lunaire-Griquet is located about twenty minutes from the town of
St. Anthony
on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada.
With
a population of only about 1000, St. Lunaire-Griquet is a quiet
scenic
community. It ls only a few kilometers away from the Viking
National
Historic Park located at Lanse aux Meadows. As a result our
town
receives many visitors during the summer months. The tourism
industry
has become very important to us since the collapse of the cod fishery
in 1992.
The town of St. Lunaire-Griquet was at first two separate towns,
St. Lunaire
and Griquet, but in the 1950's they were amalgamated as one
and both
names were kept. Here are a few pictures of our town.
