Evaluation of Student Achievement
(Progress Reports and Parent Teacher Conferences)
At C.C. Loughlin we have an open door policy. Please contact your child’s teacher or the school’s administration staff regarding any matter you feel requires attention. We have four stages of reporting in which parents are required to participate. These include: September’s Curriculum Night followed by a November parent - teacher conference. In March, a detailed written report is provided which may also includes a parent teacher conference. In June we summarize your child’s performance with a detailed evaluation.
Physical Education:
Students receive physical education classes each cycle. Students in grades K-3 are expected to wear appropriate gym clothing to school. Students in grades 4 to 6 are expected to bring appropriate clothing to school and change their clothing at school. Appropriate clothing means sneakers, short‑sleeved shirts and shorts or sweat pants.
Technology:
Through the continuing effort of our parents, volunteers, and teachers we are pleased to offer your child the latest in computer technology. Indeed, we consider our new learning resource center to be one of the best in the district. Please help us with this effort. “Let’s stay current”
Library
Computers are important however they do not replace the wonderful world of books: We are pleased to offer students a library service. We rely on our parent volunteers to help us maintain this service. Where applicable, all books are provided in both English and French. Please help us maintain this service by volunteering your time.
Homework Policy
Homework is an important tool to help your child obtain the most from their school day. Please work with your child’s teacher and keep the communication channels open at all times. Be sure to sign your child homework book daily, and allow sufficient time to have all the work completed. We suggest no more then thirty minutes daily for Primary students and sixty minutes daily for Elementary students. Please do not do your child’s homework. Inform teachers of any problems your child may be encountering with homework.
