Believing that education is not only about books, we have made it our commitment to involve as many elementary students as possible in a theatrical production each spring. Students audition for the main and supporting roles. The elementary choir often lends their voices as well. Those students not involved are encouraged to help with various other set responsibilities. For the past four years, we have commissioned playwright Ben Pittman to create a piece which reflects our Newfoundland heritage.
The 2006-2007 school year featured Man in the Mountain, situated in our local area around Prince Edward Park and characters from (somewhat( present day back to Captain James Cook.
The 2005-2006 production, entitled Millbrook Memoirs, features a younger Corner Brook and coincides with the 50th anniversary of the City of Corner Brook.
The 2004-2005 school year featured The Tuckamore Club, focusing on the francophone roots on the west coast of Newfoundland.
The 2003-2004 school year featured Dough Boy, highlighting the issue of resettlement.
