THE CANADIAN HALF PINTS VISIT MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Canadian Half Pints basketball stars have the unique opportunity, because they are small, to talk to young people about the importance of not being teased, of being tolerant and charitable. The message is that everyone has a talent to be discovered - one talent of the Half Pints is their outstanding basketball ability. In addition to dazzling students with their on court performance, they have a presentation entitled "Don’t Tease" focusing on how people judge others and on how to recognize and avoid teasing. The school will fund this educational experience with no charge to parents and students. On Monday Oct. 18th at 11:00 a.m. come along and share in the message. Bring any young children!

LABEL STUDENT ITEMS

Please place your child’s name on all personal items. In the lunchroom on Tuesday October 12th we could return lunch bags to those containing student names such as Nathan Green, Mitchell Price, Christopher Duffett and Mykala Pardy. Without the names, the process of recovery is much more difficult!

GIANT FLEA MARKET AND CRAFT FAIR

In support of the Clarenville Middle School Show Choir, a giant flea market and craft fair will be held on Saturday October 16th at the Middle School Gym Complex. The cost of renting a table is $10.00 with admission being set at $1.00 . Further Information can be obtained from Ms. Winsor at 466-7558 . Wait until you see the ‘Baked Goods’ table!

TEACHER-PARENT COMMUNICATION FORMS

In an attempt to communicate with parents on a timely basis, we have designed a form that will be mailed directly to you informing of student achievements or items needing attention. The sign of a good learning community is how they respond when a student experiences difficulty. If these forms give attention to areas where students are experiencing difficulties and a plan is established to assist the student, these forms will prove to a valuable addition to our school. The form can be found on our school’s homepage under ‘news’. Let us know what you think!
