NEW BABYSITTERS AT CLARENVILLE MIDDLE The twenty four students who were involved in the Babysitting Club this year have just completed their program. All twenty-four students passed with marks over 92%. Students learned what their responsibilities were when caring for a child. They learned how to change diapers, bathe a baby, feed a baby and burp a baby. They also learned how to keep babies and children safe. A big part of this was learning about safe toys and safe foods to feed children. They also learned what the most dangerous areas in a home are. The students learned what to do in emergencies such as fires, gas leaks and prowlers outside the home. The group also joined Mr. Darryl Feener who taught them some basic first aid. All students successfully completed all parts of the St. John Ambulance Course and are now certified babysitters. Cpl. R. Baker from the RCMP presented the students with their certificates. Mr. Pardy was one hand to congratulate the students for a job well done. |
