PHYSICAL FEATURES

Branch has a population of 400 people and is
nestled between two hills, the "Eastern Cove" and the
"Road's Look Out".  There are various sections to this
community, all of which have a history and a story.
Some of the main features of Branch are as follows:

The Eastern Cove, The Western Cove, the top and
lower roads, the Hill, Beckford and Whitewood Gulley.
All of these are the various names that have been
placed on the different sections of the community where
people live.  Furthermore,  there's the Rocky Lane, a
"rocky", winding path that leads to an area of beautiful
meadows and where one can have a breathtaking view
                        of  the ocean.

In addition, there is the Knap and the Gut.  The Knap
is a  name given to a hill in the  community where the
community graveyard, various gardens and farms are
located.  The Flats lie in the center of the
community.  They are a large mass of tiny islands
and  gardens situated amidst the communities main
waterway. So, too,are there many gulch's in our
community.  The two most popular gulch's are
"Roche's" and "English's" Gulch.  They are beautiful
areas with  green grass and small crystal clear rivers.
Finally, there is  the "Gut".  The "Gut" is the name
given to the  place  where fishermen dock their long
liners after long,  strenuous days at sea earning a living.
Along side of the  "Gut", there lies the "gear sheds".
These are the sheds that hold the fishermen's equipment
during fishing season  and the rest of the year.

Overall, in Branch, there are many features that have
become well known and, indeed, a part of the
                        communities history.
