The Hurricane Gert affected Jamie Dalton greatly.  It almost destroyed his boat, the Clay and Kevin.  This happened on September 23, 1999.  His boat was tied to the wharf in St. Bride’s.
His boat was took away from the wharf (the ropes busted) by the waves and she almost sank.  He
lost about twenty-thousand dollars worth of equipment and sixty nets, which are worth about
nine-thousand dollars.  Gert affected Jamie by damaging his nets, equipment, and boat.  Also, it
beat up the wharf which he lands his fish on.
