WELCOME
TO
The Avalon Peninsula offers nightlife and wildlife, city scenes and untouched
natural beauty. This is a place where you can photograph herds of
caribou or sea
bird colonies, icebergs, or whales. Also, caribou, moose, and black bear
are
common in all areas along the Avalon. Moreover, among the many small
fur
bearing animals are muskrat, beaver, red fox, lynx, otter, hare and squirrels.
Furthermore, salmon, lobster, crab, squid, herring, mackerel, and capelin
are
numerous in most of the bays of Newfoundland. Cod, halibut, flounder, redfish,
and turbot are plentiful in the Grand Banks and some coastal waters.
Finally, coniferous trees are the most common found here because our province
lies in the boreal forest zone, or taiga.
