Inside Story on
Hurricane Gert
This article comes straight from St. Bride's Newfoundland.  The people that made this wonderful page was the Grade 8 class at Fatima Academy.

On September 23, 1999 the Cape Shore was struck by the tail end of Hurricane Gert.  That day there was an air of sadness and loss at our school as students worried about the dreadful effects that this tropical storm would have on their families and friends.  In order to capture this huge event our class visited the scene of the "waves" and wrote news articles which each student has included on this web site.  The news and research were completed by the students of this class.  The design of the site were looked after by two students, Andrew Manning and Justin McGrath, who spent countless hours devising the most effective way to capture this important piece of Newfoundland and Cape Shore history.  We thank-you for your interest in our site and invite you to leave comments or questions in our Guest Book.
