The Report that I am going to write about is North West Territories.  The capital is Yellowknife. The surface area is 1,171,918  square km. Mining is by far the largest private industry in North West Territories. Oil and gas exploration is another important industry. The population is 61,300. The non-Aboriginal population is about 52%, and the Aboriginal population is 48%. The Languages that they speak are Chipwyan, Cree, Dogrib, English, French, Gwichin, Inuktitut, Inuvialukun, North Slavey, and South Slavey.

Summers in the southern part of North West Territories are very warm. North West Territories have long daylight periods in the summer. Winter are long and cold, and the days are mostly dark.

Many tourists visit the Nahanni National Park. Some try  canoeing, hiking, snowmobiling and dog sledding. Two of the biggest attractions in the NWT are the longest summer days of the Midnight sun. They look at the night sky from late August to January.

The borders of the Northwest Territories were established in 1912 (including modern-day Nunavut). On April 1st 1999, Nunavut became a separate territory from NWT.

Since world war two minerals have displaced first as the major economic resources of the North-west Territories. Mining and, to a lesser degree, tourism commercial fishing, transportation, and service activities, now provide the region's and economic base.
