The Brennans came to St. Bride’s in July 1968. They
opened their establishment
as soon as they arrived.
However, the store was currently running for the previous
two years in Paradise.
When their store first opened, they sold mostly groceries.
As Nora Brennan recalls, business was excellent. Over the
years, they built on to their store in hope to increase their
enterprise. They tried to carry as much as possible so there
was a little of everything. They sold groceries, clothing,
footwear, rubber clothes and rubber boats. These two
rubber products were mainly for fishermen. They also
had sewing material, quilt material, needles, thread and other
products. Presently, they sell all the same items except
for the clothing and footwear.
