Industry                            Many people in Patrick's Cove work in St.John's, but there
                           are still some dedicated fishermen.  Years ago all of the men
                           in the cove fished and were very successful at it.   But as
                           the years progessed the collapse of the fishery sent many
                            people in search of work outside the fishery.  Nevertheless
                            we still have some dedicated fisherman  including
                            Mr.  Robert  McGrath,  Mr.Gilbert McGrath, and
                            Mr. Iganatius  McGrath.  Out of a population
                            of 71 people, only 3 individuals gave the fishery a second
                            chance.  The others either moved away in search of work
                            outside the province, or stayed within the province and
                            worked in St. John's.   Over the years Patrick's Cove moved
                            away from the fishery and today about 80% of the men are
                            construction workers.
