Post Office

The first Post Office and Telegraph Office on the Cape Shore
was owned and operated by Ms. Sarah Barron.  Ms. Barron
had been trained for Morse code in the community of Placentia
and kept mail until 1911.  She taught Ms. Katie Conway the
method of using Morse code and Ms. Conway worked in the
Post Office until 1914.  Then, in 1914, the duty was carried on
                           by Ms. Agnes Conway.

Presently, the Post Mistress for St.Bride's is Ms. Regina
Coffey.  She has occupied this job for the last thirty-five years.
Each day, the mail is carried to the St. Bride's Post Office
Mr. Bill Pendergast.  Also, it is in St. Bride's that the mail for
the communities of Point Lance and Branch is picked up every
day and then, delivered to the residents of these communities.
