This store opened in 1976 as a basic take out.  It offered
                         burgers, chicken and chips, and so on.  Three years later, in
                         1979, the Careen's opened a games room, which consisted of
                         two pool tables and four pinball machines.  The games room
                         was very popular with the present generation of teens.

                         In 1985, a motel, which only had two rooms, was opened by
                         this family.  A few months later, the games room was closed
                         and three more motel rooms were opened.  These motel rooms
                         were the first accommodations to be offered on the Cape
                         Shore.  Keith Garland was the first occupant to stay in the
                         Atlantic Inn.  At this time, he was working with the rural
                         development.  Furthermore, the restaurant was built after the
                         games room was closed. 
 

                         Then in 1987 or 1988, the Careen's offered gas pumps to the
                         residents of the Cape Shore.  However, the Careen's were not
                         the first in the area to offer this service.  There were several
                         other businesses that already had gas pumps.
 

                          Presently, the Atlantic Inn and Restaurant offer several
                          services.  They include:
