Physical Features of the Ship Cove
                            Ship Cove is a small community nestled between two rolling
                            hills.  The population of Ship Cove totals six.  The common
                            family name is Tobin.  Five of six individuals belong to one
                            family.  This is probably the smallest population that resided
                            in Ship Cove.  At one time there were several families living
                            in the community of Ship Cove.  The actual physical
                            surroundings are breath-taking.  A river flows through the
                            center of the community.  This provides a natural water
                            source for the cattle maintained by  the Tobin family.  The
                            community also has an open exposure to the ocean.  A
                            common sight in early spring and summer is seals, which
                            drift in close to land to feed on fish.

                            The trees in Ship Cove are beautiful especially in autumn.
                            Every color imaginable appears in this season and they blend
                            together to create a scenic picture.  The climate in Ship Cove
                            is similar to other climates found on the Avalon Peninsula.
                            Winters are typically very cold and snow can make the large
                            hills dangerous when driving.  However, this has changed
                            somewhat in recent years with milder temperatures being
                            experienced during the winter months.

                            Spring and Summer bring warmer temperatures and sunny
                            weather.  Extremely high temperatures are not the normal,
                            due to the winds blowing in from the nearby ocean.  Fog is
                            also a common occurrence in Spring.
