| Boxey is a small community on Newfoundland's South Coast, located at 55o 35' West Longitude, and 47o 27' North Latitude. Boxey is thought to have gotten its name from the box-like wood that had to be cleared when people first arrived. The community was settled in the early 1830's by "Blagdon" brothers from Bay Le Jean (Bay L'Argent). They had originally come to Newfoundland from Dover, England. |
