Introduction

The study of motion help students begin to build a more sophisticated understanding of forces. Students are able to move from qualicative to sismple quantitative descriptions of forces acting on objects as they manipulate simple machines. The effects of friction on the movement of objects are aiso expiored. The ability of simple machines to accomplish takes with less effored is a major emphasis as students compare and improve the ability of these machines to function. Simple machines are used in many aspects of life, and students should become familiar with their desin and their advantages.
