Christmas News

Holy Redeemer is hosting a gigantic Craft Fair at the school on Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Admission is $1.00. There are over 68 tables featuring in excess of 47 crafters. Canteen services will be available all day serving light lunches. Come join in the Christmas Spirit, show your support and get some fantastic buys. Also, the Grade 9's will be selling tickets on a Super Christmas Basket at the Craft Fair, value of the basket is approximately $300.00. Tickets cost $1.00 each. Please come and support the Graduates of ‘99.

Christmas Concert

The Elementary (grades 4 to 9) Christmas Concert will take place December 9th, 1999.
The Primary (kindergarten to grade 3/4 )Christmas Concert will take place December 16th , 1999.

Bridges Program

The BRIDGES Program will be starting on December 13 with a session in Basic Computer Skills. All registered will be contacted. You must be registered to attend these sessions. If you would like to register there is still space available.

For those students registered, a not will be sent home on Monday, December 6th for your parent's permission for you to attend these sessions. This note has to be returned to the school. If this note is not returned you will not be able to attend these sessions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Brenda Singleton at 786-9056.

Book Fair

A special thank you to the parents and student volunteers who helped to make a Scholastic Book Fair a great success.

Neighbourhood Kids Club

The Neighbour Kids will be holding and Family Dessert Party. Children, parents, grandparents, legal guardians are invited to Amalgamated Academy on Friday nigh, December 3rd from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. to sit down at the sweetest table of the season. Join us for a time of carolling and festive skits. Each family is asked to bring a dessert. Doors will open at 5:50. Each child will have their name entered to win a bicycle.

Happy Birthday

A very Happy 7th Birthday to Joshua Menchions who celebrates his birthday on December 5 and Brittney Gosse who will celebrate her birthday on December 3. Birthday Greetings also go out to Samantha Janes who celebrated her 8th birthday on Sunday, November 28th. Happy Birthday to Blair Reid, Joanne McClean and Stacey Bishop.

St. Mark's Students

A very warm welcome to St. Mark's students, parents, and teachers who will be joining us from St. Mark's School on Monday, December 6, 1999.

CLASS SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3

There will be no classes for Grade Kindergartens on Friday, December 3, 1999. This is necessary in order to make changes in classroom location to better meet the needs of our students. All other students will go home at 1:00 p.m. to allow for orientation of St. Mark's students, teachers and parents. The following is a schedule of classes for this day.

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help distribute our World's Finest Chocolate order during the week of December 13 - 17. We are also looking for volunteers for our Christmas Dinner or Breakfast. Your help with any of these projects would be greatly appreciate., If you are able to help us out, please fill in the space provided on the back of this Tribune. Also, we will be decorating our school tonight, if you can help us out, please drop by the school at 7:00 p.m.

Jeans / Cap Day

Friday will be Jeans ($1.00) and Cap (.50 cents) Day. However, if you wear your t-shirt or shirt inside out, you can wear your cap for free!!

Christmas Food Drive

Holy Redeemer will be holding it's annual Christmas Food Drive. Please send along any non-perishable food item by your child. All items must be in by December 17 at 1:00.

Gregory Donaghey

Holy Redeemer will be holding a concert by Gregory Donaghey, better known as "the Laughing Policeman" on Thursday morning, December 23, 1999 at 11:00. Parents/guardians are also welcome to attend. There is no charge for admission as this is the school's Christmas Gift to the students of Holy Redeemer.

Badminton

Badminton will be cancelled for the remainder of December. Classes will continue in January.

Environment Committee

The Environment Committee has received a grant from the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board under the Waste Management Trust Fund for the New Harbour Road Brush removal project. They are accepting resumes from the people in Spaniard's Bay and Tilton areas. The positions required are one foreperson and five laborers. Work begins December 13. Resumes can be dropped off at the Town Council Office until 4 p.m. on December 8.
