Curriculum Objectives:

1. To recognize the role of local people played during World War 1 and World War II.

2. Discuss and communicate online and locally (Spaniard's Bay) the effects and consequences of war.

3. Determine the extent to which economic factors influenced peoples decisions to enlist.

4. Through anaysis develop a statement of personal feelings or beliefs about war.

Online communication:

1. Develop a web site and develop links to other similiar sites (War memorial Project - St. John's) and the Newfoundland and First World War Books of Remembrance digitized at Holy redeemer.

2. Communicate using email with local author Gerald Andrews about his book which contains stories of local people in the wars. Use email to communicate and colaborate with other schools involved in similiar projects.War memorial Project - St. John's
