Friday, January 27th, 2006 was Family Literacy Day all across Canada.

In addition to the jamboree, Grade 3 had a full day of literacy activities, including

  2. a reading relay
  3. bookmark making
  4. a scavenger hunt

Here are the Grade 2's and 3's during the BOOK RELAY.

How did the book relay work?

Students were put into teams

Book Relay

They had to run and get a balloon

Book Relay

They then had to transport - between their legs - the balloon to their team's book box

They had to burst the balloon to get the clue inside.

Then they had to find the book that went with the clue.

The team that matched all the clues with books won.
