Torngait Uvaganniavingit Corporation (T.V.C)

T.V.C. is the name of the Stone Quarries operated by the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation. (L.I.D.C.) The L.I.D.C. is the business arm of the Labrador Inuit Association (L.I.A.). T.V.C. produces stone building material, anorthrosite. This material is a granite with inclusions of Labradorite. Presently, there are two quarries in operation; one at  10 Mile Bay North which cuts large blocks of stone into slabs, ready for further processing. There is also a processing plant at  Hopedale, which cuts the slabs into files, table tops and other furniture.
