Clam

Description

Clams are biotic mollusks. They are invertebrate animals. They have a calcore hard shell. They have soft bodies. They are edible biotic mollusks. There are different kinds of clams. One of them is the cherry stone pismo. They are known to reach a diameter of 4ft [2.4m] and their weight is one quarter [0.27] metric tons.

Habits/Movements

The clams feed on respices and excretes wastes through its neck through two tubes or siphons. Some of the siphons draw in water with food and oxggen and the other expels wastes of the shell. They have a muscular foot extending from the opposite end of it shell which it extend and retracts to burrow slowly through the mud and sand.

Reproduction

The cells are usually shed in the water as fertlization. All mollusks[clams] reprodouce sexually.
