Banff National Park


Banff is one of Canada's national parks. This National Park is in Alberta and is the oldest and one of the largest in Canada. It was established in 1885.

Did you know that Banff has a perment population of about 3500 people ? Banff has snow covered peaks, a boiling sulpher spring, and many rock formations.

Banff has three main lakes named. One is Lake Louis and it is about 100 feet above Lake Agnes and Mirror Lake.

It also has gigantic pine-clad mountains. Banff has a health and pleasure resort .

Local attractions are a Canadaian wax gallery and a four day celebration of " Banff Indian Days."

It's an ideal mountain playground. The town is governed by a Federal Park Super- intendent and it also has a locally elected council.

Some of the animal life are the elk, deer, the mountain goat, squirrels, black bears, grizzly bears, wolfs, coyotes, cougars, and morments.

Various flowering plants and a variety of trees such as grasslands to Alpine meadows to evergreen forest, pine, spruce, poplars and douglas firs.

There are 260 spieces of birds mostly found in lower Bow Valley are Harliquin duck, chickdees, pygmy owls, swallows, and black birds
