Kouchibouguac National Park of Canada |
If you can't pronounce "Kouchibouguac" you are not alone. Koosh-e-boo-gwack is a Micmac word meaning "river of long tides". Kouchibouguac is located in New Brunswick, and was established in 1969. The park lies on Northumberland Strait and has coastline protected by a long offshore sandbar. The land is quite flat and the tides flow in several kilometres. The area is 239 sq km(92 sq mi). The trails have flowers. Along the beach you can find seashells, but leave them where you find them. Future generations will thank-you. Some interesting things that you can do while you stay or visit Kouchibouguac, are walk along the sandy beach, take a family bike ride through nature's wonders, a tranquil evening around a glowing campfire, a pace that is sometimes relaxed, but always exciting. It also has a special Canadian Heritage protected area and nature interpretation programs. Meet new people and make new friends. I hope you have learned a few things about Kouchibouguac National Park. Thank-you for taking the time to read it.
