Hug-A-Tree Program

When warmer weather sets in, children like to go exploring to discover new and wonderous surroundings. The scary part of that is the possiblity of them getting lost. Being inquisitive as they are, children can easily wander off and lose sense of their boundries and the next they and you know is that they are lost.
Mrs. Newman-Penney's Grade one class were going to make sure that if this ever happens to either one of them, they are going to know what to do. Their teacher took them on a little excursion and taught them what to do if they should ever find themselves lost in the woods. They were taught that carrying a black garbage bag in their pocket or pack can be a life-saving device if ever needed. They learned not only does it retain body heat, it's a good ba rrier from the elements.
