The Crazy Day

  • This story took place last summer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon on the big day of the pet parade. My friend and I decided to hitch my dog, Silver, to my wagon. We decorated the wagon and put a big, red bow on my dog's head.
  • On the way to the parade, Silver saw a cat. She chased the cat all the way to the parade. Besides knocking over a lemonade stand, she didn't do much damage. We stopped to fix the stand and went on the the parade.
  • Silver was tired from the running, so she decided to rest. She didn't want to get up, so I gave her a piece of bone that I had in my pocket. That got her going.
  • It was time to start the parade. It was nice to see all the other animals in costumes and decorations. There were cats, dogs, rabbits, and a lizard at the parade.
  • Once everyone was in the lineup, the parade was about to begin. Then it happened; a cat accidentally got her ribbon tangled in Silver's ribbon. Oh boy, it was quite a mess. The dogs and cats got all tangled and meowed and barked. You could hear them from a long ways away. A police officer that was there blew his whistle and the animals stopped.
  • Everyone pitched in and got them straightened out. The parade went on without a hitch. Everyone thought it was very nice. We did too.
