Linda is originally from Change Islands. She completed high school in the town of Lewisporte and from there went on to attend Memorial University. After receiving training in Primary Education Linda began her teaching career. Linda taught in Moreton's Harbour for one year and has spent the last eleven years teaching at her present school New World Island East Elementary. She is married to Wallace Bown and they are currently living in Victoria Cove. Linda has three daughters Peggy(born in 1975), Heather(born in 1978) and Julie (born in 1981). In her spare time Linda enjoys reading, sailing, and taking an occassional walk with her dog, Beauty.
