We received our caterpillars in late May. Actually they were so small, it was hard to imagine that they were even caterpillars. They ate food that was supplied in a little cup and in one week we couldn’t believe our eyes. They had grown over 1 cm. In two weeks they were between 2 and 3 cm. Days later, the larva had formed a chrysalis and were hanging from the lid of the cup. We attached the lids with velcro to the top of a laundry hamper. We waited, and waited and waited! Nine days later our first butterfly was here. When we returned from music, another was here. We love being parents! Now we have 19 butterflies. We will release outside on June 23.
