Friday, May 14, Peacock Primary students celebrated a very special day....BUDDY'S BIRTHDAY!!  Buddy turned 1 and we celebrated the day with an assembly, games, bracelets and cupcakes!! Our assembly focused on "Friendship" and Buddy's three special letters, ASK.  Each student received a bracelet with a special message on it. Our Kindergarten students sang two songs and our grade three's made comments about "what a friend is?"  We sang "Happy Birthday" to Buddy, sang  B-U-D-D-Y (like BINGO) and did the BUDDY BARK, a fun dance!  Each class received a BUDDY for their classroom and stickers of Buddy!!  The gym was decorated with pictures about friendship and banners of what our students like to do with their friends. It was a fantastic assembly focusing on friendship, getting along and BUDDY!!! Kindergarten and grade one, then grade two and grade three played cooperation games in the gym. All the games were cooperative, where students had to work together having FUN!!  They played games like the rainbow, hula hoop twist, six legged race, buddy crawl, parachute popcorn and more!!  ALL students had fun playing and cheering each other on!!  It was a FANTASTIC day in the gym!! At recess we celebrated Buddy's birthday with cupcakes....they were awesome!! A great BIG BUDDY cheer goes out to all who made Buddy Day a fun, fantastic, wonderful, day.......IT WAS AWESOME!!
