On Thursday, May 26th, students and teachers at Peacock Primary were treated to an AWESOME performance by Robert Munsch! Munschmania had been hitting Peacock in the weeks leading up to the BIG DAY! Robert Munsch stopped in Happy Valley on his way to Rigolet to launch his new book, "Give Me Back My Dad". This story was written 20 years ago when Mr. Munsch was visiting Rigolet. Robert Munsch and his son went ice-fishing with Cheryl Allen and her Dad. This ice-fishing trip inspired the story. After a contest put off by Scholastic Canada, "Pick-A-Munsch" decided that the Rigolet story would be published. Cheryl Allen now lives in Happy Valley and her daughter Megan is a Grade 3 student at our school. After the performance, Mr. Munsch spent several hours signing copies of his books for us. It was a day that everyone will remember for a long time. Thank-you very much Robert Munsch!!!
