On Monday, May 4th, the gymnasium at Peacock Primary was once again alive with the delightful sound of children’s voices as the grade two and three students performed "I Like Bein’ Me!".
A musical production by Donna Amorosia, this short piece of musical theatre focuses on building self-esteem through music. The performance included speaking parts for seventeen students and six songs performed by the entire group of grade twos and threes - one hundred and sixty-two children in total.
With songs such as "Feelings are OK", "Your Special Light" and "Bein’ The Best I Can Be", the students portrayed a powerful message about celebrating the uniqueness of each individual and having the courage to show your peers who you really are - Just be yourself and people will accept you for who you are!
A huge "Thank You" goes out to Musical Director, Heather Lawrence and the stage directors, Gail Rowsell and Kathy Legere, for volunteering their lunch breaks to work with the students on this production.
Congratulations to all our performers... It was a tremendous learning experience for all!
