Inclusion in education involves:
-
valuing all children, parents/caregivers and
staff equally
-
differences between children should be
embraced as resources to support learning
-
increasing the participation of all in the
learning and playing
-
reducing barriers to learning and
participation
-
improving school for staff as well as for
students
-
fostering relationships and partnerships
between the school and the community
-
recognizing that inclusion in education is one
aspect of inclusion in society

Inclusion is an important aspect of life at Sacred Heart
Academy. We strive to be inclusive. Our school's mission
statement, our district policies and our provincial policies
all reflect our desire to be a school where every child is
respected a part of the school community.

As part of our Inclusive Action Plan
regular classroom teachers and IRT (Instructional Resource
