The black duck is a dark black- brown color. The nesting area of the black duck is west of Hudson Bay, Labrador south to Iowa, Ohio and North Carolina. It nests in weeded areas and usually lays 10-12 eggs. Nests are not guarded by the male. The male black duck has a greener beak and is slightly larger than the female. |
