Each type of Canada Goose prefers a different type of habitat. The main habitats are wetlands and ponds.  The goose will often fight over a nesting area.  The average meal for a goose is half  a pound of food a day.  When the goose gets its food, it also gets a mouthful of water which it drains out with its teeth.  Like most water birds, the goose flies South for the winter.
