The Baptist Church

The Baptist Church was founded in 1609 on Dutch Soil at Amsterdam by John Smyth and Thomas Helwy's, who are english separatists of congregational perwassion. John Smyth was a part of the Roman Cathalic Church of England. John Smyth was the first leader of the church.In 1609 John Smyth has formed churches near London and all over Europe. Now in England there are over one million members in Europe.

 Some of the changes in the Baptist are that they did not allow blacks to be even a near their church,the teachings are different then they were to become a leader of the church.They even had signs up saying "NO BLACKS ALLOWED.'' They were right against the coloured, but the coloured were not against the whites that went to the Baptist Church.

 Some beliefs are that the church composed of only of converted individuals. A Baptist believe that no biblical precendent exists for the Baptism of infants. They also believe that when you die you come back on earth as another form,this is called recarnation. Only the leader told which what would happen if the person who died would not come back onto the earth.The Baptist Church is very simular to the Roman Cathalic Church and the Penticostal Church.

 The role that lay people play are, singing, cleaning, teaching, learning people to worship God, keeping the church nice and neat.The lay people changed over time because now they clean their own clothes, they only now are letting blacks enter their church. Not very often you see a white talking to a black.

 The first Baptist congregation in Newfoundland was a small group meeting in the homes of St.John's, in the winter of1954 . In 1957 the first Baptist Church was in Corner Brook.Even with wild storms, they would not miss their day of church. They church was never empty.

 To become a leader of the baptist church you must have 2 the 3 years of church school and to be part of the calgrry must go thourgh a two week cours.the bapiist church riies money for the poor and also has a homeless shatler. And has event in there comity.

 Baptist follow a doctrine of seperation of church and state, with a collary emphasis on religious liberty. The Baptist's led in the founding of the civil government in the world to be based on a seperation of church and state

 In Canada, Baptists congregations were first formed about the year of 1760,to the longest history of a single.The Baptist Church has claimed by a congregation organized in Horton, Nova Scotia in 1765, now known as Wolfville United Baptist Church.
