`                                                    The  Bobcat
           The Bobcat lives in North America. It has long legs, a short tail,

          and pointed ears tipped with short hairs. Their fur colors can be
           tan to reddish-brown with dark spots or blotches.
 

           Adult Bobcats measure from 30 to 45 inches long, including their
           tail. Males weigh about 24 pounds. Females weigh about 16 pounds
          and are shorter than the males.
 

           You are most likely to find them  in swamps, Mountains, and
           wooded or shrubby areas. They range from southern Canada
           to Mexico. Once they roamed throughout the United States. But
           They are rarely found their today.
 

         Bobcats make their dens in hollow trees. They feed on rabbits,
         birds, and such rodents as mice, rats and  squirrels. Some people
          trap bobcats for their pelts, which are used to trim clothing.
 

         Bobcats mate in late winter or early spring . After a pregnancy
         period of 65 days the mother gives birth to 2 or 3 baby Bobcats.
