Raccoon

raccoon is a furry animal that has a bushy, ringed tail and a band of black hair around it's eyes.  This black hair looks like a mask.  They are often called coons, They live in north america and south america.  Two main species, Northern raccoon and the crab eating raccoon.  The northern raccoon lives in Canada     united states and central. several raccoons live in tropical islands.

THE body of a raccoon. The northern raccoon measures to about 24 to 42 inches long, including it's tail. They can  weight from 8 to 20 pounds. Males may weight more then females. The male can weight as much as 40 pounds.

A raccoon has coarse,long hair that is usually gray sometimes tinged with yellow or brown. The tail of the northern raccoon may grow as long as 15 inches. Most raccoon tails have 5 to 7 rings. Both species have pointed snout and long flexible fingers. They have strong sharp claws, which help them climb.

the life of the raccoon. Raccoons live on ground and in trees. They live alone or in small family groups. They have home ranges   their home ranges are about 100 to 250 acres .Raccoons hunt in the night they stay in their dens at day. They walk like bears and are good swimmers.
