Grass covers one quarter of tyhe earth's land surface and is a very important plant both for people and wildlife. Grasslands are used by people throughout the world for growing crops and grazing animals. Grasslands, such as the African savannas, are valuable wildlife areas, vital to the survival of many species of plants and animals.
