Metamorphic Rock is formed by the effects of heat and pressure upon igneous and sedimentary rocks.  Usually, rock that is not dense or has many holes in it becomes very packed and heavy.

In otherwords, if enough pressure and/or high enough                   temperatures are applied to the rocks, they change!
