Orangutans are very interesting animals. It's name means person of the forest.

Orangutans are alot like people. The male weighs 200lbs and is five ft. tall. He lives alone. The female lives with their young in groups of 6 or 7.

Orangutans spend most of their day hunting for food. They like to eat flowers, insects, and birds eggs. Each night they build a new nest high in a tree.

The really sad thing is that they are Endangered. There are only about 25,000 left in the world. They live in the Indonesia rainforest. They are very intelligent and can be taught sign language. They are very gentle and never hurt people.
