The story did keep me guessing. I didn’t know if Louis was going to make
it or not. There were twist and turns in the plot and you just didn’t know
what Louis was going to face next.

The author really showed the characters personalities in the story. You
could see exactly whom they were by what was said and done and each character
had their own personality. The main character grew and matured in the story.
Important lessons ![]()

The characters learned that you shouldn’t judge someone just because they
are different, and that you should never be unkind. I think that Louis
learned to keep trying even when it gets bad. These are very valuable messages
for every one.

The story was easy to follow even though the plot was not simple. It has
little bit of hard words but it is perfect for my age level. The inner
meaning was easy to understand and it changed with the plot.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I also enjoyed doing my report.
I think all grade 5 classes should have The Trumpet of the Swan on their
bookshelves.
