PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY

On Friday, September 19th, there will be a school-wide close-out for students in k - 6.  The purpose of this cancellation of regular classes is for teacher professional development.

**Please try to keep these times as much as possible for supervision and safety reasons of your child.

 

Parent Parking & Student Drop Off

We would like to remind parents that the safest and most efficient place to park and drop off students would be the parking area between the school and church.

 

MASTER HYPNOTIST

Coming to our school for an evening presentation is master hypnotist TJ Fox.  This is a family show and tickets are available at IGA, J7D Convenience and Jackman's One-Stop.

 

VOLUNTEERS

St. Joseph's is currently looking for volunteers for the canteen.  If you can be of assistance, please call the school and leave your name.

 

SCHOOL COUNCIL

We are currently seeking nominations for this year's school council.  If you are interested in having a role in our school council and would like to be a member, please call the school and leave your name with the secretary.

 

STUDENT ALLERGIES & MEDICAL CONDITIONS

We would like to update our list of students who have food allergies or medical conditions of which the school needs to be aware.  If your child has any medical condition that we need to be concerned about, please inform the school as soon as possible.

 

CURRICULUM NIGHT

Our first official meeting with all parents is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m.  There will be a short information session in the gym focusing on the new report cards.  Following that each homeroom teacher will provide an overview of your child's school year in their classroom.

 

Terry Fox Run & Spirit Day

On Friday, September 26th, our students will be joining thousands of students across our nation to help raise money for Cancer Research by participating in the annual Terry Fox Run.  Pledge sheets have been sent home with students and we ask that children collect what they are able and to return their money to their homeroom teacher by the 25th.

Part of the afternoon will be used for our fist spirit day.

 

KINDERGARTENS

We would like to welcome once again our newest students- our Kindergartens!  We are sure that they will be a great addition to our student body and will enjoy their first year with Miss Rideout.

 

New Teachers

We are very pleased to welcome to our school community - Mr. Terry Crant, Intensive Core French Teacher in Grade Six and Mr. Max Pike, K-6 Music teacher as well as duties in grades 4 & 5. 

 

Fundraising

We are in great need of resources at our school that would directly benefit our students and teachers.  Starting next week, our school will be holding a weekly 50 - 50 Draw to raise funds.  A letter will be sent home next week regarding the selling of tickets and resources we would look at getting for our school.
