On Tuesday, February 16,
2010, Kindergarten to grade 6 students enjoyed a fun-filled and educational
morning of activities for Family Literacy and Numeracy Day. Parents and
grandparents were invited to join the students.
The morning started off with a massive Scrabble competition. Each class
tried their hardest to make the most words with their letters, but the grade 4s
came out on top! Next, the classes split up into smaller groups and
rotated to various centres in their respective classrooms. The centres
consisted of fun activities based on mathematics and language.
Family Literacy and Numeracy Day was a great success! Thank you to the
staff who helped prepare the morning, the parents and grandparents who
attended, and the students who worked so well!
