ClassAct  - Email for Students

On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 students were given a form for completion which would help them gain access to a school-based e-mail account. This service is provided by the Department of Education's CDLI division and is explained in the link below. From a school's perspective, e-mail services such as G-Mail and Hotmail will not be permitted for use on our school's computers. The deadline for submitting completed forms is Monday, November 16, 2009. Should the form not be passed in, your child will not have e-mail access at the school. The students' ClassAct account is accessible from any computer and helps provide more Internet safety and discretion for your child. The form has been attached in the event that your child has misplaced the one that was passed out or as a result of a student's absence on Tuesday.

Thanks for your anticipated understanding and co-operation with this movement.

A letter to parents

Please read the attached letter, Dr. David Allison, Medical Officer of Health, Eastern Health, advises that people should continue with their regular routines, conduct good hygiene practices and stay home if not feeling well.

NEW!!! SynreVoice

We have just recently been trained in the use of a valuable tool for contacting the home. The system is called "SynreVoice". It will be used to send announcements, by telephone and email, to our school community — these announcements could relate to an up-coming school event, to school closures or for other reasons that the school deems necessary. This automated system will also be used to keep parents/guardians informed about their child's attendance at school. Normally, absence calls will go to the home telephone number. This system will leave a message on an answering machine. The school receives a report of all calls made and the result of each attempt.

All students have received a 'Contact Information' sheet.  If you have not completed this and returned it to the school, please do so asap so we can ensure that we have accurate contact information for you.

At St. Paul's we strongly believe that contact with the home is crucial to the academic success of our students and look forward to implementing this system later this month.
