The school crest was designed in 1999 by a former student, Vanessa Carroll. This very detailed crest includes significant symbols representing various aspects of school and community. The design includes a tree representing the forest industry; hills, river and a teepee for the Exploits Valley and the Beothuck People; symbols of learning such as a treble clef and a book; and a fleur-de-lis representing French Immersion. The crest's motto is clearly stated "Learning is for life - life is for learning".
