Student Code of Conduct

WE AIM FOR GREEN

Our school implements a student code of conduct called “We Aim For Green”. Its’ purpose is to encourage and reinforce positive behaviors in a consistent manner. Bulletin board displays highlighting behaviors are visible throughout the school, i.e. classrooms, hallways, gymnasium etc. They will display red (stop), yellow (caution), and green (way to go!) behaviors to provide a visual for our students. Red behaviors may include name calling and running. Yellow behaviors may include silly responses and wasting time. Green behaviors may include helping others and showing respect.

The following interventions will be taken to reinforce appropriate behaviors:

ü Informal student/teacher conference (acknowledgement of behavior and verbal reprimand if necessary)

ü Teacher documents behavior in documentation handbook (after 4 successive documentation of recurring behavior, the student may be sent to the administration)

ü Teacher contacts parents

ü Teacher sends students to the administration after the above actions have been taken

PLEASE NOTE: A student may be sent immediately to the administration if the behavior is of a serious nature.
