Woodland Primary

Woodland Primary is located at 18 A St. Catherine Street in the town of Grand Falls-Windsor. The school is for Grades Kindergarten to Grade Three students.  It was formerly known as Grand Falls Academy Primary School which opened April 25, 1975 under the principalship of Mr. Mervin Baker.  For the past nineteen years French Immersion has been a program offered by our school.
Today Woodland Primary holds about four hundred students.  It has  twenty-four teachers.  It has a guidance counsellor, a secretary, four student assistants, two French monitors and two custodians.  The principal’s name is Christine Cole and the vice principal is Maria Antle.  We have a great music program and our music teacher is Yvonne Courtney.  Darlene Skinner is our gym teacher.
I love my school.  We have a nice play area where we go out during recess when the weather is good.  We also have a place with a slide and climbing equipment.  We do a lot of fun things at our school.  I like the Sport's Day in June.  We  get to make bubbles and have cotton candy.  Also, our school is next door to the Arts and Culture Centre.  So we get to see some of the fantastic performances there.  My class really liked the one about dinosaurs.  The Mary March Museum is near our school too.  They offer a lot of great programs to all the schools.  We went there three times this year to make leaf pictures, bird mobiles, and fossils.
If you want to find out more about our school you can check out our web site----
www.k12.nf.ca/woodland.  It shows the bell schedule, bus schedule, school calendar and lots of other things.  You can see all the rules that make our school safe for us.  You can even see our Assembly Song which I love to sing and do the actions.
