.                           Exploits Valley High: Maple Division

Exploits Valley High: Maple Division was built in 1959 and it is located on Maple Street in Grand Falls-Windsor.  Only students in Grades 11 and 12 attend this school.  In 2003-2004 there were 468 students and 26 teachers.  The principal is David Antle and the vice principal is Gerald Blanchard.
Our class visited the school and we were met at the door by three really nice girls from the Student Leadership Class.  Rebecca, Melanie and Amy were our guides for the rest of the tour.  They took us into the music room.  My dad had his Jazz Band there (The EVH Maple Big Band) and they played four songs for us.  They were really good.  A boy named Josh sang a song and dad played his trumpet.  We learned about all of the instruments in the band.  My favorite was the drums.  It was fun.
Next we went upstairs to meet Miss Kelly, the chemistry teacher.  She brought us to the science lab to show us some experiments.  Before we could go into the lab, we had to put on safety glasses to protect our eyes.  Miss Kelly did several experiments where she set fire to chemicals and they turned different colours.  Some chemicals made small explosions.  It was very cool to see all that science stuff.
We then went to the gymnasium.  It is way bigger than the one at our school.  We met Mr. Andrews, the gym teacher and he gave us basketballs to play with.  We each had a partner and we played with the balls together.  This was my favorite part of the afternoon.
We met Mr. Blanchard the vice principal.  He had no hair.   He said he was happy we could come visit and he’ll see us when we get to Grade Eleven.
