Twin Town Manor is located on King Street in Grand Falls-Windsor. It became a home for seniors in 1997. The building was built in 1971, and it was the church home of Windsor Pentecostal Tabernacle for 24 years until they built a bigger church on 97 King Street. One of the children in my class, Chantal Kelly, attends this church and she chose this new church to write her report about. After a lot of renovations, the old Windsor Pentecostal Church was converted into a beautiful home for our senior citizens and it was named Twin Town Manor. The owner of Twin Town Manor is Guy J. Bailey.
Twin Town Manor is a place where seniors can retire and live on their own, and still be taken care of at the same time. The seniors get three meals a day, dessert, and lots of homemade bread, which they love. Twin Town Manor employs about twenty people. My mom and my nan work there. There is a hair salon at Twin Town Manor for seniors who want their hair done. The hairdresser comes in twice a week.
The seniors that live at Twin Town Manor are very kind, and they love to have company. They really enjoyed it when our class visited them. We sang Christmas songs for them, and we gave them bookmarks that we made especially for them. One of my classmates, Kate Newell, even sang a couple of songs all by herself. The seniors didn't want us to leave. I think more teachers should take their students to Twin Town Manor for a visit.
